Conference costs: £150 for colleagues from Southend Schools / £175 for colleagues from non-Southend Schools

This conference is aimed at SENCOs, Learning mentors and staff working in welfare, inclusion and care roles from Primary, Secondary and Special Schools (any other interested colleagues are more than welcome to attend). 

We are delighted to welcome Jaz Ampaw-Farr as our Keynote Speaker. The conference commences with an inspiring keynote speech delivered by Jaz after which delegates will move onto workshops. There will also be opportunities to network with colleagues in similar roles and share experiences.

The Keynote speech will be followed by workshops. Workshops on offer are:

·        Supporting Pupils whose Family Members are Living with Cancer

·        Basic Mental Health Awareness

About the Workshop Facilitators

Francesca Wreba-Jaworska and Friederike Englund - have over 20 years’ experience as specialist nurses working within cancer and palliative care. They are assisted by experienced oncology and bereavement counsellors working with adults and children.

Sue Iles – Sue has worked with vulnerable adults and children for over 30 years within schools, Units and the YMCA. She is presently working in a primary school as a Learning Mentor where her remit includes families and children. Sue has run mental health workshops for the YMCA, Church and Night Shelters. She started up a mental health group in a local church and this group has been running for 8 years.
