This Leadership Qualification Pathway has four levels and NPQML sits at Level One of the pathway. This year long programme is a qualification that provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional achievement as a middle leader.

This programme will:   

  • Support participants in becoming highly effective middle leaders with the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improved classroom practice
  • Develop leadership and management of a team or department at middle leader level
  • Reflect on the recent and significant changes in schools and national policy and provide access to a wider set of leadership resources to challenge and support participants

The programme will be delivered through:

  • High quality up to date online resources 
  • Three face to face days – these will focus on linking research and theory in education with practical leadership tasks
  • Online discussions and peer support
  • A 360 degree diagnostic (beginning of programme)
  • A 720 degree diagnostic (end of programme)

Participants will be required to 

  • Lead a school improvement project aimed at improving pupil progression and attainment and the capability of their team (4,500 words)
  • Complete a reflective journal and on-line tasks to reflect on everyday practice
