Through discussion, facilitator input and a range of practical activities, we will consider the nature and purpose of planning for learning. We will reflect on how we can implement these principles when planning English lessons, thereby ensuring that we provide effective teaching and learning opportunities for all pupils.

We will explore the key elements of the national curriculum for English; speaking and listening, reading and writing, examining the programmes of study and considering how the different strands can be incorporated into teaching and learning in a variety of engaging and interactive ways. A number of practical ideas will be shared.

In addition to exploring a range of ideas for planning and delivering the National Curriculum for English and considering how some of these ideas can be implemented, learners will also benefit from the opportunity to develop their subject knowledge in this important area of the curriculum.
