Course participants will discover the history behind the Resilient ReaderĀ© programme: why it has been created, it's popularity and power. In addition, participants will be guided through the RR website, rich with resources and examples, before experiencing what a guided reading lesson, a whole-class reading lesson and RR challenge lesson looks like. Jacob will also provide support for planning lessons, linked directly to each NC objective, to ensure each attendee leaves the session with confidence and clarity.

  • To explore the powerful link between of picture/film/sound and reading
  • To support the move to whole-class reading lessons

  • To finally comprehend key comprehension strategies easily and effectively
  • To create a buzz around reading in and out of school
  • To create a reading goal for all in school and at home (The 1.8 Challenge)
  • To support EAL and SEND pupils with reading and comprehension tools
  • To build a school that prioritises and promotes reading
  • To provide the option to work with the Resilient Reader in school.
